Andrea Evans Goes Back to
The Young and the Restless
by Michael Logan, April 06 TV Guide
Longtime soap fave Andrea Evans is returning to The Young and the Restless but she won't be playing Patty Williams, the role she did on the show back in 1983-84. That character is now a surgically altered wackadoo played by Stacy Haiduk. Instead, Evans will show up as Tawny Moore, the ballsy trailer-trash mama she created on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1999. Evans' Y&R stint will last just one episode—airing May 12—but it sounds like a hoot. Tawny hits Genoa City looking for her daughter Amber (Adrienne Frantz) and will get into a bitch-brawl with Amber's mother-in-law Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).
"It'll be dueling redheads!" says Evans. "Tawny and Phyllis are both strong, confrontational women and their scenes together are so much fun. It was great being back on my old stomping grounds. This brings together all of my favorite jobs—Y&R, B&B and, in a way, One Life to Live. [Paul Rauch who was Evans' boss during her golden years on OLTL is now exec producer of Y&R.] The only thing missing here is Passions!"
But Evans did have a Passions-like moment when she met the towering Haiduk on the set. "Not only did Patty have surgery to completely alter her face, she's also an entire foot taller these days," Evans notes with a laugh. "Apparently, if you want some really strange plastic surgery, Genoa City is the place to go!"
ANDREA EVANS IN STARRING ROLE
IN "HIT LIST" FEATURE FILM
Andrea Evans has been set for a starring role in the upcoming dark comedy independent feature "Hit List." Evans portrays a former beauty queen who left the pageant world behind and became a trophy wife and mother. Her husband is portrayed by John Savage ("Deer Hunter," "Hair," "The Godfather: Part III," "The Onion Field").
In the movie, Evans' daughter, the film's heroine, is played by Shirly Brener ("Righteous Kill," "Blond Ambition," "Employee of the Month").
Andrea's character has her hands full with her family. Her son is seeking a career in rock'n'roll and lives in the basement. Her daughter is quirky with a history of anger issues. Things seem to improve for the daughter when she gets into relationship with an independent contractor played by Joey Lawrence ("American Dreams," "Blossom, " "Gimme A Break"). But later her anger resurfaces when she suspects he may be a killer. Andrea is the peacemaker and the glue that holds the family together.
The OIC Productions feature is produced and directed by Minh Collins with Elmer Ventura also serving as a producer. Script is by Thompson Evans. Cinematographer is Emile Haris with film being shot on locations in and around Los Angeles. Executive Producers are Gary Lewis, Minh Collins and Elmer Ventura.

Soap for Hope
Andrea Evans has teamed up with LATHER to create Sandalwood Rose Soap, an all-natural, olive oil-based soap and a Soap for Hope Gift Set, which includes two bars of Sandalwood Rose soap and a natural wood soap dish. $5 from the sale of each Sandalwood Rose Soap and $12 from the sale of each Soap for Hope Gift Set will benefit the breast cancer programs at City of Hope, a leading biomedical research and treatment institution for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Evans will again serve as Celebrity Ambassador for City of Hope's annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer events held in cities across the country. Evans, whose mother is a breast cancer survivor, will join survivors across the country, and their friends and families, to take steps to support breast cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope's annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer.
This will mark the eighth consecutive year that Evans has dedicated her time and efforts to the Walk for Hope and other related City of Hope activities.
"I am proud to once again be representing City of Hope's Walk for Hope in 2008 to continue my support of City of Hope," said Evans. "As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, this cause is near and dear to my heart. I have seen firsthand what it takes to survive this disease and, if in the process of walking, we can save even one life, it is more than worth the effort."
LATHER develops products that draw on natural ingredients and are free of synthetic colors and fragrances. Ever aware of her large, loyal fan base, Andrea specifically wanted to create a soap that would be gentle enough for sensitive skin, and favored sensual sandalwood oil - possibly evocative of the salacious characters she has played on several daytime drama series.
"We are extremely proud to be partnering with City of Hope, which is such an inspirational and well respected organization, as well as Andrea Evans, who inspires millions of people every day," explains Emilie Hoyt, President and Founder of LATHER. "Both share in LATHER's mission to help others lead a more radiant life."
Sandalwood Rose Soap retails for $8 while the Soap for Hope Gift Set, which includes two bars of Sandalwood Rose soap and a natural wood soap dish, costs $20. Both will be available for purchase beginning in September 2008.
